Following Max’s success in the British and National Championships in 2006, an intense testing period began in Minimax and JICA, under the guidance of Piers Sexton. Max competed in his first Minimax race in October 2006 and was victorious. More JICA testing ensued, as that’s where Max’s heart really lay. He competed in the PF International Winter Series which he won, and went on to compete in Super 1 and STARS. He finished the season 7th overall in STARS, and performed well in qualifying, consitently putting his kart on the front two rows.
